At the start of autumn, TVNET+ obtained a document on a plan to limit the shadow economy in a sector where services are often settled in cash and “on the hand,” without formalities.

The Saeima subcommittee for combating the shadow economy, which works under the Budget and Finance (Tax) Committee, has turned to auto service businesses and proposed a stricter order in the sector.

TVNET+ reviewed the accompanying documents and proposals and clarified the Ministry of Economics’ view. The item, published on 19 October 2026 by Nataļja Vasiļjeva, a TVNET+ author, sets out what is planned and what surprises could await owners of small auto services. Related labels include the shadow economy, auto services, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Economics.
