Night street with smoke, distant flashes and emergency lights after an air strike

Russian forces attacked Ukraine in the night leading into Monday with missiles and 269 drones, the Ukrainian Air Force said. The report was published on 19 October 2026 by TVNET together with LETA and Ukrainska Pravda.

The strike used Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, Iskander-K cruise missiles and attack drones. Fifty-nine of the drones were jet-powered.

Air defence brought down or stopped 247 hostile targets. Four Iskander-K missiles and 243 drones, including 43 jet-powered drones, were shot down or neutralised by electronic means.

Hits were recorded in 25 places. Debris from downed drones caused damage in eight further locations. A photograph circulated with the report showed the aftermath of a Russian missile strike in Kyiv the same day.
