Lithuanian police are checking reports of a possible drone crash in Pasvalys municipality, the National Crisis Management Centre said on Sunday, 18 October 2026.
The Lithuanian Armed Forces said the nationwide air alert had been cancelled. Early on Sunday, residents in Panevėžys and Šiauliai counties were notified of a red air-alert level, and text messages urged people to go to shelters.
The centre said police are checking reports of a possible explosion in the Pasvalys district, which borders Latvia’s Bauska municipality. Centre head Vilmants Vitkausks told LRT that a drone crash had not yet been confirmed, that about 50 reports had come from residents, and that the details were still being clarified. He said officers had gone to the area, were surveying the territory and were checking the residents’ reports.
The armed forces indicated that the drone may have entered Lithuanian airspace from Poland. According to preliminary information reported by LRT, debris was found in Juodžioniai village in the Pasvalys district.
The report was published by TVNET together with LETA and LRT.
